Have the Climb of Your Life

Sydney Harbour Bridge, or “The Coathanger” as the locals call it, is one of the most iconic bridges in Australia. Most tourists will simply drive over the bridge, or take photos from afar, but there’s a better way. Get up close and personal with this Sydney landmark on a BridgeClimb tour.

Standing 134 metres above Sydney Harbour, a BridgeClimb is not for the faint-hearted. But if you can summon the courage it’ll be worth it. There’s nothing like the satisfaction of conquering this massive arch while taking in the spectacular Sydney view. Many people have even used the tours to cure their fear of heights! And really, there’s no reason to be scared with safety harnesses and full safety briefings provided.

Choose from the standard Bridge Climb, or the new Discovery Climb. This latest tour takes you behind-the-scenes for a greater understanding of how the famous bridge is put together.

BridgeClimb Sydney offers day, night, and twilight climbs, and each tour lasts about three and a half hours. BridgeClimb tours start from $179 for adults and $109 for kids aged 10 to 16.

This looks really fun. But it seems people are teathered together. Are they attached to the bridge in some way? Meaning if someone decides to jump, will they take the group with them?

Hi Jon, thanks for stopping by. Everyone is attached to one another, and then they’re also attached to the bridge, making it completely safe in case someone does decide to jump.

Hi, Lauren. Great to see some blogging on Sydney!

When I was in Sydney a number of years ago, this is one of the few things my friends and I had time to do while we were in the city, and it was absolutely worth it. I tell everyone that visits about it, and think it’s an absolute must-see. (The photos they take of everyone are well worth the cost, too!)

    Cheers,
    Jed (The London Traveler)

I would love to do this! Didn’t they show people climbing this bridge on the reality show “The Amazing Race”?

Hi Jed! I’m glad you enjoyed your bridge climb … it really is the best way to see Sydney Harbour Bridge. Money just can’t buy that kind of view.

And Lynn, it may very well have been featured in The Amazing Race, but I’m not sure. I’m not a huge fan of the show, but maybe someone else can fill us in :-) .
