See More of the Sydney Opera House
On most days you can see tourists snapping photos beside the famous Sydney Opera House. After all, this unique white building, developed by Danish designer Jørn Utzon, is what most visitors to Sydney want to see.
But don’t just settle for the average tourist experience. To really enjoy this modern architectural marvel though you need to go inside.
Whether you enjoy dance, music, theatre or comedy, there’s sure to be a show at the Opera House to catch your interest. Keep an eye on this blog, as I’ll feature some of the best shows the Opera House has to offer.
If you’re a history buff, a guided tour may be more your speed. On the Tour of the House you’ll explore the Opera House’s many theatres and learn more about Australia’s arts scene.
For an even closer look, why not take the Backstage Tour? On this very special tour, you’ll visit areas normally reserved for performers and crew. You can sit inside the orchestra’s pit and visit the dressing rooms used by Australian stage legends. This tour also includes a full breakfast.
If you’re not a native English speaker, don’t worry. The Sydney Opera House also offers foreign language tours, with guides that speak Japanese, Korean, and Mandarin.
All tours are offered daily. Tours can be booked directly through the Opera House, but you can save up to 30% if you book online.

Like most tourists, this is the place I would love to visit, but even more so, I would love to see an opera or a musical there! I’m sure the acoustics are amazing!
They certainly are Lynn! Unfortunately I’ve never caught a musical there, but I have seen Ben Folds, Tori Amos, and Michael Bublé here. The sound is always wonderful, and the artists love playing in such a great venue.
