Good Vibes at Surry Hills Festival
The Surry Hills Festival is one of the biggest in Sydney, capturing the eclectic nature of this inner-city suburb. This Saturday’s event at Prince Alfred Park will feature plenty of exciting stalls and entertainment.
Surry Hills has always been home to fledgling artists, so the artisans’ quarter should not be missed. Here you can buy beautiful hand-made crafts and artworks and talk to the creative souls that made them.
The food stalls will serve local gourmet fare, perfect for lunch or a snack on the go.
Five stages will feature some of the area’s hottest rock bands, jazz musicians, acoustic artists, and world music during the day. Peabody, Kaya, Dave Calandra, and The Shake Up are some of the acts appearing on the day.
Children’s musicians and entertainers, a petting zoo, face painting and plenty of rides will help keep the kids amused. Littlies will also love the famous Surry Hills Dog Show-Off!
The Surry Hills Festival is on from 10 am to 6 pm on Saturday, October 13. Entry is free, but gold coin donations are encouraged. All money raised will benefit the Surry Hills Neighbourhood Centre.
