Sunday is Fair Day
One of the highlights of the Mardi Gras calendar is Fair Day, a family-friendly day in Victoria Park. It’s on again this Sunday, and thanks to Mardi Gras’ 30th anniversary it’s promising to be bigger than ever before.
This year the event will look back at the last three decades of the festival, as well as looking forward to a brighter future for Sydney’s gay and lesbian community. Some of Fair Day’s most popular events will be back, including the Doggywood dog show and Kidzone for the little ones. As always, there will also be plenty of fun and educational stalls, and lots of delicious food and drink.
The main stage features a stellar line-up of entertainment, including the original Australian Idol diva Cosima De Vito, the award-winning acoustic singer SONiA, smooth soul singer Peyton, and living legend Maxine Nightingale.
While it’s a gay and lesbian event, the friendly and relaxed environment welcomes folks of all sexual orientation.
