Go Green on National Tree Day
No, this post isn’t just an excuse to look at the gorgeous Jamie Durie. It’s about National Tree Day, Australia’s biggest community tree-planting event. As we all stress about global warming and climate change, this event is more important this year than ever before. And if I have to show you hunky men for you to get the message, so be it!
On Friday local students will participate in Schools Tree Day. Then on Sunday the rest of us get the opportunity to make a difference. The benefits of taking part extend far beyond the warm fuzzy feeling you’ll get from supporting a good cause. You’ll be helping your local community, promoting biodiversity, offsetting those carbon emissions, making the world a more beautiful place, and having a great time!
Visit the National Tree Day website to find a tree planting site near you, or just gather your family and friends together and plant some trees in your backyard!
Since Tree Day started in 1996 more than 1.5 million Aussies have planted more than 11.5 million native trees and shrubs. I wonder how many we’ll plant this year?
