Historic Charm of the Old Rectory

Cross

The Old Rectory was built by the Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney in 1912. Today this historic priest’s residence is one of the most affordable and unique accommodation options in Sydney.

The rooms are spacious, with high ceilings and wooden floorboards. The house is equipped with a communal kitchen and laundry, and a beautiful grassy lawn and flowering garden which is perfect for relaxing in. There’s also a guest computer to keep you connected to the internet, and a payphone if you need to make any calls.

Standard rooms offer shared bathroom facilities, but if you’re after a little more privacy you can ask for an ensuite room. All rooms are fully equipped with linen and blankets, towels and soap, and a color television for entertainment.

A free breakfast is provided daily, and guests can also enjoy a free shuttle service to Sydney’s domestic airport and Sydenham train station. A shuttle service is also available to the international airport, but that will set you back $7.

The accommodation isn’t flashy, but it’s clean and well kept. If you’re looking for luxury you’ll be disappointed, but if you’re just after a place to sleep you could do a lot worse.
