Better than Biscuits at the Bakehouse Quarter

Biscuit

They’re not making biscuits in North Strathfield anymore, but the old Arnott’s factory is still a fantastic place for a feed. In fact, these days the Bakehouse Quarter is more exciting than ever. This old factory site has been transformed to a multicultural restaurant hub and retail center.

For a dose of kitsch look no further than the Outback Steakhouse. I visited this place with American friends in the United States who thought I’d enjoy the taste of home. Now this popular chain has found it’s way Down Under. The food isn’t very Aussie at all really, but the over-the-top décor made me smile. This fun eatery is a great spot for groups or families because of the large menu and friendly atmosphere.

Mediterranean restaurants are a dime a dozen, but Il Cuore Italian Restaurant is a cut above the average. All the usual suspects are here, but dishes like sizzling garlic prawns, veal saltimbocca, and pizzas are classics for a reason. For something really special, make sure you sample the Chocolate Volcano for dessert.

For a taste of the east head to The Bakehouse Garden. The name doesn’t sound it, but this surprising eatery is actually a Korean barbeque. As well as its signature charcoal-fired meats and seafoods, the restaurant offers authentic Korean dishes including bibimbab and a range of hotpots.

The latest eatery to open its doors is Zenobia. This Lebanese restaurant will delight fans of the cuisine and newcomers alike. Old favourites like hummus, falafel, tabbouleh, and baklava sit alongside more innovative choices.

You’re spoiled for choice at The Bakehouse Quarter, which makes it an excellent choice for a great night out.
