Frantic Film Competition Hits Sydney

Creative Sydneysiders will be scurrying around the city this weekend as they take part in the 48 Hour Film Project. 48 Hour Film Project logoContestants will make their own short film in 48 hours.

When I say they’ll make a film in 48 hours, I really mean it. They’ll write it, they’ll shoot it, they’ll edit it, and they’ll add the soundtrack, all in just two days. I’m sure they won’t be getting a lot of sleep! To ensure all teams don’t prepare anything before they get there they must weave a given character, prop, and line of dialogue into their three to seven minute piece.

The 48 Hour Film Project is the world’s oldest and largest timed film competition. It attracts around 40, 000 filmmakers every year from 70 cities around the world. If you want to be one of them, you have until Friday to register online!

Dates: 10 to 12 October 2008
Cost: Registration is $150
