Get Art and About in Sydney
Sydney’s largest public art festival, Art & About, kicks off today. The event is celebrating its seventh year, which promises to be one of the biggest yet. Over three weeks Australia’s emerging and established artists will join international stars in a series of exhibitions and events in the streets and galleries of Sydney.
So keep your eyes peeled, because art is all around you! These are just some of the highlights!
Sydney Life (October 4 to 26): More than 20 vibrant photographs will be presented in the natural outdoor gallery of Hyde Park. If you visit on weeknights from October 13-24, you can also check out the Night Noodle Markets at the same time!
The Stables (October 11 to 26): This art project by Annie Kennedy depicts the role of horses and stables in Erskineville’s history. See these outdoor installations and shopfront exhibitions along Erskineville Road.
Open Gallery Retrospective (October 7 to 26): 18 of the best Open Gallery artworks from the last six years will be shown on giant street banners around the city.
By George! (October 4 to 26): The laneways of George Street will become creative spaces displaying some amazing temporary art installations.
Oxford Street: This colorful street will host free life drawing classes, an exhibition by Gareth Ernst in the Taylor Square heritage toilets, and much more

Hi Lauren, Thanks again for all of the info– you rock. I went with my 4 year old to the Noodle Market/ Photo exhibit. It was great! I just put a blog post up about it and a link to you– because you are so awesome. Thanks again.
