Barbeques for Sydney Neighbourhoods

by Lauren on March 25th, 2008

I have to admit, I’m a massive fan of the soapie Neighbours. But how many of us really live in a neighbourhood likeBBQ flame Ramsey Street? For that matter, how many of us know any of our neighbours at all?

Sydney’s south is set to change all that with a series of community barbeques. There’s something for the whole family, with live music and kids activities planned for all sites. It’s also a great opportunity to meet your local council safety officers and police, the unsung heroes of our local area. They’ll be on hand to offer safety advice to help you keep your house, and your family, safe.

These events are completely free and a great opportunity to meet your neighbours. Who knows? You might even make some new friends! The community barbeques are on at the following venues:

  • 30 March - Peace Park, Buckland Street, Chippendale @ 11 am to 2 pm
  • 2 April - Waterloo Green, Raglan Street, Waterloo @ 3 pm to 5 pm
  • 6 April - Joynton Park, Gadigal Avenue, Zetland @ 11 am to 2 pm
  • 9 April - Redfern Community Centre, Hugo Street, Darlington @ 3 pm to 5 pm
  • 13 April - Alexandria Park, Buckland Street, Alexandria @ 11 am to 2 pm
