Bondi Beach Named Heritage Site
Australia’s most iconic beach, Bondi, has just been added to the National Heritage List. It joins 75 other Aussie sites on the list, including the Great Barrier Reef, Port Arthur, the Melbourne Cricket Ground, and the Sydney Opera House.
It’s an honour that’s well overdue for this haven for surfers, tourists, and families.
“What can be more Australian than Bondi Beach? The sun, the sand, the lifesavers, the sense of place that is so strong here,” Environment, Heritage, and Arts Minister Peter Garrett told the Sydney Morning Herald.
“This is a fantastic day for Bondi Beach and it’s fantastic to see Bondi recognised in this way.”
