In 2005 the local community provided feedback for upgrades to three parks in the Eveleigh precinct. On Saturday the revamped Hugo Street Reserve, Yellowmundee Park, and Pemulway Park will be unveiled to the public.
So what’s changed? Well, local artists Bronwyn Bancroft and Dale Jones have created a stunning mural on the fence of Hugo Street Reserve. How does a little literature over lunch sound? Well tomorrow you can get just that when one of Australia’s best loved authors, Di Morrissey, gives a free reading at Customs House.
The talk is part of a series of readers run by PEN, a worldwide association of writers and their supporters.
Di will read from her latest best-selling novel, Monsoon. This is a rare opportunity to hear one of the great voices of contemporary Australian literature.
