Coogee’s Hotel Is No Dive
Dive by name but not by nature, this funky beachside hotel is great for visitors after affordable accommodation outside the city.
Dive is located in Coogee, 20 minutes from the center of Sydney. This suburb is a favourite with backpackers for its beautiful beaches, diverse eateries, and laidback philosophy.
Dive’s location is ideal for water babies and sun seekers. Coogee Beach is just across the road. The famous Wylie’s Baths, with its dive-in cinema, is also close by.
The hotel’s 14 rooms are all self-contained with a kitchenette, refrigerator, and microwave. With all these facilities you never have to leave your room, but you’ll want to for breakfast. Each morning your hosts serve a delicious buffet breakfast in the dining room. Many hotels stop serving breakfast far too early for holidaymakers, but not Dive. They understand you’re here to relax, so breakfast is available from 7 am to 1 pm!
The hotel’s rooms suit one or two people, but Dive hasn’t forgotten families. The owners also have a three-bedroom house available for families or small groups. This is located on Alexandria Street, two blocks from Coogee Beach.
