Dragon Boats Visit Darling Harbour

The excitement of the Chinese New Year Festival continues this weekend with the Dragon Boats, Source: Chinese New Year websiteDragon Boat Races.

More than 100 sporting, social, and corporate teams will contest this traditional Chinese sport over two days at Darling Harbour. It’s quite a spectacle, with 22 paddlers in each boat rowing to the beat of a traditional drum.

There’s also plenty to see on shore too, with Chinese lions and dragons entertaining the crowds. Spectators can also enjoy Chinese foods and gifts at the markets.

Dates: 16 and 17 February
Time: 8 am to 5 pm
Location: Darling Harbour
Public transport: Take the train to Town Hall station and walk down Druitt Street, take a ferry to Aquarium Wharf, take the monorail to Darling Park or Convention station, or take the light rail to Convention station
Parking: Parking is available at Harbourside Car Park and Kings parking stations at 182 and 383 Sussex Street
