Emily Maguire and Geraldine Brooks at the Library
We can look forward to some fascinating talks at the Customs House library in the coming weeks.
On Tuesday, local author Emily Maguire will speak. She’s written the novels The Gospel According to Luke and Taming the Beast, along with essays on sex, religion, culture, and literature. With such hot button topics as these, Emily’s talk is sure to spur debate.
Then on the following Thursday Geraldine Brooks will appear to discuss her latest work, People of the Book. Geraldine is sure to have plenty to say after time spent as a journalist based in Bosnia, Somalia, and the Middle East. Her previous non-fiction works include Parts of Desire and Foreign Correspondence.
Dates: Emily Maguire will speak on Tuesday 4 March, and Geraldine Brooks will speak on Thursday 13 March
