Families Stroll Around Sydney This Sunday
While thousands of inner-city walkers will tackle the Seven Bridges Walk on Sunday, mums and bubs in Sydney will be out for a more leisurely stroll. Not for any ordinary Sunday walk mind you: thousands of new mums will take part in the World’s Greatest Pram Stroll.
The free event encourages new mothers to get out in the fresh air and meet other mums in the area. But of course dads are welcome too! As a matter of fact, everyone is welcome to help break the world record for the most people strolling in one country in one day. With similar events happening in Victoria and Adelaide, it just might happen! The Sydney walks will take place in Centennial Park and Sydney Olympic Park.
You can register for the walk online or from 8 am on the day. Olympic Park registrations will take place at the corner of Dawn Fraser Avenue and Olympic Boulevard, while Centennial Park walkers will meet at the Centennial Parklands Restaurant. The Centennial Park walk kicks off at 9:30 am, and Sydney Olympic Park walkers will start at 10 am.
After the Pram Stroll, why not stick around? An information tent will be set up at both venues giving new parents the chance to chat to health professionals and charities.
At Centennial Park, kids will love the jumping castle and model gliders. The whole family can get also involved in kite-making classes. Lunch is available from the Parade Grounds Café.
At Sydney Olympic Park, kids can enjoy free arts and crafts. For the adults, celebrity chefs Adrian Paita and Joanna Savill will host cooking demonstrations. A range of international food and drink will also be available for lunch.
It promises to be a fantastic family day out, so grab your prams and sneakers and enjoy this great walk!
