Feast For Families at Star City
When I’m visiting Star City with my family, it’s almost guaranteed we’ll eat at one place: the Garden Buffet. It may not be the flashiest restaurant at the casino, but the variety it offers makes it ideal for groups.
If you’re going to visit, be prepared to wait. We arrived at midday, and there was already a lengthy queue. However, it was much longer when we left at 2 pm. Arriving outside peak times will help you avoid a lengthy wait, but you should leave enough time for one just in case.
Once inside you’re greeted with what seems like chaos. I’ve never been here when it hasn’t been swarming with people, which is both a blessing and a curse. Of course, jostling other diners for a place at the buffet can be irritating. But with so many people eating, the dishes rarely have a chance to go cold.
At around $30 a head, the buffet represents great value with king prawns, gourmet cheeses, and tasty roast meats from the carvery. My little sister relished the free soft drink refills, while a bottle of wine helped the us adults deal better with the surrounding hubbub.
There’s an abundance of food on offer including fresh salads and fruits, pastas, Asian delicacies, and yummy desserts. So you’ll want to pace yourself and leave at least two hours for your meal. It may not be the most peaceful eatery in Star City, but families will find it hard to beat.
