Fire Stations Open Their Doors
If you’ve ever wanted to learn more about the state’s fire departments, here’s your chance. Fire stations all around New South Wales are opening their doors to the public on Sunday.
As part of the open day activities, adults and kids of all ages are encouraged to get down to their local station and see what goes on there. Kids will love checking out the fire trucks, holding a fire house, and learning more about fire safety.
Adults will learn a lot too, with the focus of this year’s event on home and winter fire safety. This season is notorious for house fires, but the fire fighters will tell you how you can keep your family safe. They’ll also tell you all about smoke detectors and how to create a home escape plan incase you ever need one!
The open day runs from 10 am to 2 pm on June 1. It’s all free including a sausage sizzle lunch.
