Food Festival Meets Sustainable Living in Manly

Foodies should get down to Manly this weekend for their 22nd Annual Food and Wine Festival.Wine Holder

Sydney’s top names in food and wine will man stalls stretching along Manly’s Ocean Beachfront and down the Corso to St Matthews Church. That includes 13 Manly restaurants serving a wide range of yummy stuff including seafood, Indian, Thai, Mediterranean, and modern Australian cuisine. They’ll join 18 wineries from around the state.

“This year’s Manly Food and Wine Festival will incorporate the Manly Sustainability Fair, which was a highlight of last year’s event, not only encouraging Festival patrons to enjoy great cuisine but a more sustainable lifestyle in one of Australia’s most beautiful, cosmopolitan resort communities,” said Mayor of Manly, Dr Peter Macdonald.

And the sustainability message will permeate all aspects of the event. All plates and cutlery used on the day will be made from biodegradable materials. Nice one!

Live bands and other performers will perform all day during the festival to entertain the crowds.

This beautiful weather we’ve been having is just perfect for enjoying this massive outdoor event.

    Hey Lauren -

    Love the photo! :-)

That Manly F&W Festival was indeed a great time, I encourage everyone to check that out. I am a big fan of Aussie wines, and was in heaven to be standing among all those wine tents with an empty glass around my neck. A great day at the beach.

Thanks for stopping by, and for taking this cool photo Mark! Yeah, good wine, good weather, and that stunning beachfront view doesn’t make for a bad day out, does it?
