French Fare at Chez Pascal

by Lauren on March 27th, 2008

Chez Pascal may have recently moved from its regular Ramsgate digs, but the venue is the only thing that’s changed. It’sFrench flag business as usual at this traditional French restaurant, with chef and owner Philippe Lebreaux continuing to produce outstanding cuisine with a smile.

As the weather turns cooler this kind of comfort food is all the more appealing. Rabbit casserole in a French mustard sauce, beef cheeks braised in red wine, and the obligatory plate of escargot are all winners.

The most surprising part of the Chez Pascal experience is the price. Few meals are priced more than $28, and you can easily find a satisfying option for $20. You can even bring your own wine to save a few more dollars, with the $1.50 corkage charge per person is more than reasonable.

I know you’re probably eager to try Chez Pascal, but make sure you book in advance. Even on a weeknight this place fills quickly as French fans continue to come back for more.
