Get Art and About
I love art, but I often struggle to actually get myself to a gallery. If you’re anything like me, then you’ll love the brilliant Art and About Festival which brings art to you.
You may have noticed some of the exhibition’s works already. They’re all around you, in parks, on poles, and in alleyways. But if you haven’t spotted any of these vibrant artworks, here are some places you shouldn’t miss.
Few people ever get to Bulletin Place, Albion Place, or Temperance Lane. But right now these under-used laneways have a new lease on life. From tonight until Saturday you can see live bands and artworks at the Bulletin Place Bar. Make sure you stop in to the Albion Place Gallery, home to 30 local pieces. And if you’re walking home, take Temperance Lane. The multi-coloured LED lights look like a beautiful kaleidoscope.
Hyde Park is home to the Sydney Life Photography Exhibition. These works capture the quirky people and stunning landscapes found in this beautiful city. There are also some exciting sculptures near Circular Quay.
So why not get out there and soak up this wonderful free arts festival. Afraid you’ll miss something? Fear not. Catalogues are available online and at various locations around the city. The Art and About Festival runs until October 21.
