Glitz and Glamour at the Mardi Gras Parade

by Lauren on February 26th, 2008

Centurions @ Mardi Gras, Source: Toby Forage @ FlickrMardi Gras comes to a colorful climax this weekend with the annual Mardi Gras Parade. If you’ve never been to this sassy spectacular, you’re really missing out.

Sydney’s Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade has a reputation as one of the most glamorous, naughtiest, and most spectacular parades in the world. It’s a celebration of the pride and diversity of the world’s gay and lesbian communities delivered with a good dose of humour and sequins.

Over half a million locals and plenty of international tourists turn out every year to cheer on the parade. Make sure you’re one of them when the parade travels down Oxford Street this Saturday.

Date: Saturday 1 March
Time: 7:45 pm
Location: The parade starts at Hyde Park, travels up Oxford Street, and ends at Moore Park Road
