Greek Yum Cha at Opah
Most of us associate Yum Cha with Asian dining, but Gary Macris is turning the concept on its head. Gary offers Yum Cha, Greek style, at his Cronulla eatery Opah.
Tzatziki, dolmades, chicken souvlaki, spit roast lamb, and spinach and fetta triangles are just some of the authentic Greek treats you can expect on the yum cha menu. You can try as many of them as you like for only $30.
Opah also offers an a la carte menu, with moussaka, yemista, lamb souvlaki, and Gary’s Big Fat BBQ Meat Platter. Only real carnivores need apply: the meat platter includes spit roast lamb, pancetta, chicken souvlaki, lamb souvlaki, quail, chips and salad. Yummo!
With such good food it’s tempting to overeat, but make sure you save room for dessert. The Greek dessert plate is a must. It features a selection of some of the best Grecian goodies, so you don’t have to choose just one!
With breathtaking water views and mouth-watering food, Opah is not to be missed. It’s open every day for lunch and dinner.

I didn’t eat any Greek food in Sydney but I was super impressed with the Greek food I ate in Melbourne. The “souvi’s” totally blow away Greek American gyros!
The Tampa area has a lot of Greeks, maybe more than anyplace in the southern USA but the food still isn’t quite as good as the Greek food I ate in Melbourne. In fact, I think the Greek food in Australia is better than most of the Greek food in Greece! :)

I remember reading somewhere that there are more Greeks in Melbourne than anywhere outside of Greece. It certainly could explain a lot!
