Hunter Wines Uncorked

by Lauren on October 29th, 2007

We all know the best wine in New South Wales comes from the Hunter Valley, but why go that far? The best drops in theBottles valley are coming to the north shore next Sunday at the annual Hunter Uncorked event.

The festival runs from 11 am to 5 pm at The Esplanade, Balmoral Beach. It features delicacies from 16 of the region’s wineries and six Hunter restaurants. A mix of boutique wineries and household names will be on show.

If you prefer a beer, make sure you stop by the Blue Tongue Brewery stall. This is one of the best-kept local secrets, and it tastes great on tap. A range of other local producers, like the Hunter Valley Cheese Co. and Love Chai Tea, will also be on show.

The Funky Do Da’s and Paul Watters will provide entertainment on the day. There’ll also be some children’s performers to keep the little ones busy.

Entry is free. However, if you want to join in the fun you’ll need to buy a souvenir wine glass for $5. Full glasses of wine will start from $5. Luncheon plates will cost $15 each.

A free shuttle bus will run from Spit Junction to Balmoral Beach to get you there and back safely.
