Kick Off Australia Day with the Morning Ceremony

This spiritual ceremony will take place in the Royal Botanic Gardens, the sacred site of the Gadigal people. The event honours the past and celebrates our nation’s future.

Through song and dance, the Gadigal community will awake, cleanse, and honour the spirits of past inhabits, ensuring they continue to protect and watch over Sydney.

The Queen’s Baton will also commence its Australia Day journey at this moving event.
Everyone is welcome to enjoy this spiritual celebration. 

Date: Saturday January 26
Time: 8 am to 8:30 am
Location: Royal Botanic Gardens
Address: Enter via the Queen Elizabeth II gates, Government House gates, or Morsehead Fountain Gate, Macquarie Street
Public transport: The gardens are an easy walk from Martin Place Station or Circular Quay
Parking: Metered parking is available along Mrs Macquaries Road, Hospital Road, and Macquarie Street
Cost: Free
