Laser Tag at Code Red
Just in time for the school holidays, the new Code Red Leisure Centre has opened its doors at Rosehill. The state-of-the-art facility is Australia’s most advanced laser tag centre.
Laser tag is a new sport played wearing computerised vests and handheld phasers. Players win by zapping their opponents, base stations, and other targets in the multi-level playing zone. Laser tag can be played as an individual game or in teams.
Experts from Hollywood designed Code Red’s cool playing zone. It features more than 60 robotic doors that randomly open and close. It’s also always changing, so you can never really know the arena’s layout. Futuristic lighting, pumping music, and special effects also help keep things interesting.
Missions last for 15 minutes, and there is a five-minute briefing period before each session. Sessions are run every 20 minutes.
Code Red laser tag is recommended for adults and children eight years and over. The lasers used are very low powered, and completely safe. Unlike paintball, it does not hurt to be zapped by another player. In fact, the only way you know is when your pack tells you and shuts down.
All players must wear a shirt with sleeves, and enclosed shoes for their own protection.
Trading hours: Open Monday to Thursday 4 pm to 8 pm, Fridays 4 pm to 10 pm, Saturdays 10 am to 10 pm, and Sundays 10 am to 8 pm. Code Red will be closed from December 24 to January 1.

Hi Anita. According to their website it looks like the party packages operate with a minimum of 10 players and there doesn’t seem to be a maximum. It’s $29 a head for 15 players or less, and $27 per person after that. That buys 2 15-minute sessions in the arena, 5 arcade tokens per person, pizza and soft drink, a cake, lolly bags, a cap for the birthday boy or girl, a prize for the best player, and 2-for-1 vouchers for everyone. Doesn’t sound like bad value!
