Parade Celebrates Chinese New Year
A highlight of Sydney’s Chinese New Year celebrations is the parade. It’s happening
again this Sunday, and it promises to be the biggest and brightest yet.
Around 2500 performers will take part in the procession, including 600 visitors from China’s historic Shaanxi Province. For the first time the parade will be divided into themes and colours to represent the key elements of Sydney’s Chinese community.
This year’s route has been extended so even more people can see all the action. It’s free to watch, but if you’d prefer you can buy the best seats for $55. These seats are located in front of Town Hall and are strictly limited. Tickets for the reserved seating are available from the One Stop Shop at Town Hall.
The parade will conclude with a massive concert in Tumbalong Park, Darling Harbour.
