See the Whales in Sydney
It’s whale watching season, and you can spot these majestic creatures in style with Obsession Cruises.
And I mean style. How does this sound? A 50′ fully-airconditioned catamaran designed with comfort in mind. You can bring your own lunch, or let the ship’s award-winning chef cook it for you. Of course that’s a little pricier, but you were opting for luxury right?
The ship’s crew offers a detailed commentary so you can learn more about these amazing aquatic animals. From mid-May to August you’ll spot humpback whales making their journey to breeding grounds up north. From mid-August to November you’re likely to see them making their return down south with their new babies. So cute! Don’t be surprised if you also see some killer whales, pilot whales, southern right whales, dolphins, seals, or even sharks!
Regulations require boats to stay at least 100 meters away from the whales, but when the engines are off the curious creatures often swim right up to the boat. That can make for some amazing photos!
Obsession Cruises can cater for groups of up to 28 people, so there’s plenty of room for all your family and friends. They’re also happy to collect you from any Sydney wharf of your choice, and drop you back there at the day’s end.
Obsession is the only Sydney company offering private whale watching tours, so they’re well worth checking out if you’re looking for a personalized encounter with these kings of the sea.
Dates: Tours available daily (weather permitting)
Cost: Whale watching tours start from $2, 000 for four hours

I was living in Coogee, a year ago and I was rather fortunate to see a whale from the beach. T’was truly an awesome sight.

How wonderful for you Don. Who needs to spend the money on tours when you can spot them from the beach? ;-)
