Birthdays, weekends, good days, bad days, all seem like good opportunities to celebrate with an ice cold beer or a good bottle of wine. In fact, the idea of taking a month off from the grog sounds like a real challenge!

But that’s exactly what the organisers of Dry July are asking you to do. Knowing you’re raising money for people living with cancer should make it a little easier to swallow. All sponsorship money raised during the month will go to the Prince of Wales Hospital Foundation, Dreams 2 Live 4 charity, which is based in Randwick.

But it’s not all about the charity. Participating in Dry July will help you save some cash, improve your well-being, and generally feel better! If you’re currently nursing a weekend hangover you know what I mean!

That one month can be a real challenge. Thankfully the organizers allow you to purchase a Golden Ticket which entitles you to indulge for one day. This is perfect if you’ve got a wedding or big birthday on your social calendar.

If you want to take part make sure you sign up at the website. Once you’ve registered you can communicate with other Dry July participants, allowing you to share your progress and track your donations.

Dry July has the potential to improve your life and the lives of others. So why not get involved and encourage your mates to do the same?

Image supplied by Dry July organisers

Post from: The Sydney Traveler
