IMAX: The Real Big Screen

Think you’ve seen movies on the big screen? Unless you’ve been to the IMAX, you’ve seen nothing.

IMAX shows a variety of 2D and 3D films, so there’s something to suit all ages and interests. Currently you can choose from the blockbuster The Dark Knight or a range of educational docos like Bugs 3D, The Human Body, or Cosmic Voyage.

Movies at Olympic Park

Movies at Olympic Park

There are several outdoor movie festivals in Sydney, but my favourite has to be Movies in the Overflow.
Why does it get my vote? Well, first of all it’s really family friendly. Most film festivals show a small number of kids’ features, opting for more action flicks, horror classics, and other nasties. However, families can always find something everyone will enjoy at Movies in the Overflow.
The best part about it though is that it’s completely free. Now where else can you find that sort of value in Sydney?
Movies kick off at 8:30 pm, but the fun starts from 6 pm. Kids …read more

Hare Krishna Culture at Govindas

Hare Krishna Culture at Govindas

If you’re in the mood for a relaxing night out that’s a little out of the ordinary, Govindas in Darlinghurst is the ideal destination. It’s a restaurant, movie theatre, and holistic center in one!
First stop is the restaurant, which offers a fantastic Hare Krishna style buffet. All options are vegetarian, and the friendly staff are happy to point out vegan dishes if you desire. Personally I’m a proud carnivore, but the food at Govindas is so tasty I never feel like I’m missing out. The menu is always changing, but features Asian and European standards like dahl, rice, salads, pastas, …read more
