The system uses a series of cameras which are linked underwater and above the surface. Special software analyses the activity of all swimmers. It sounds an alarm when it detects a swimmer is drowning, alerting human lifesavers to the problem. According to The Sunday Telegraph, the device has already prevented eight people from drowning. This includes a man who had a heart attack and two children who suffered asthma attacks.
