108 new free and untimed motorcycle parking spots will be created in The Rocks over the next few months. This brings the total number of free motorcycle and scooter parking spots in the city to more than 800!
“Motorcyclists no longer have to pay for street parking and can choose between thousands of timed parking spots and hundreds of untimed spots. Many parking stations also offer discounted all day parking for motorbikes including the Goulburn St and Domain parking stations where it costs $5 to park securely all day,” said the City of Sydney Director of City Services, Gary Harding.

With petrol prices sky-high, it’s little wonder that more people are ditching their cars for economical motorcycles and scooters. Now there’s even more reason to make the change, with news that Sydney Council is offering free parking for all two-wheelers.
“The Motorcycle and Scooter Strategy supports our commitment to sustainable transport options and the shift away from large, polluting vehicles to smaller vehicles to complement walking, cycling and public transport,” explained Lord Mayor, Clover Moore MP.

Parramatta has a new free bus service! The Loop travels around the city at ten-minute intervals. It will travel along the main streets from the ferry wharf to the shopping centre and railway station. That sounds like a winner for tourists and locals alike!
“The Loop is the keystone of Parramatta City Council’s integrated transport plan,” said the suburb’s Lord Mayor Paul Barber.
