Where: Sydney’s south west
How to get there: Take a 60-minute train ride from Circular Quay
Stay: There’s really not a lot in the way of accommodation here. You best option is probably staying in the nearby Lansvale Hotel and Resort, which has quality rooms for all needs and budgets
Eat: In the arcades and alleys around Freedom Plaza. Here’s you’ll find Vietnamese soup stands, Thai herb emporiums, and other authentic Asian cuisine
See: The tranquil Kuan Yin Buddhist Temple
Tour: Take the Day Trip to Asia tour with renowned chef and food writer Carol Selva Rajah
Shop: You’re sure to find a bargain at Freedom Plaza
Events: The 15-day Moon Festival in September and Cabramatta Seafood Festival in December
After dark: Cabramatta doesn’t have the best reputation so you probably don’t want to be wandering around after dark. The pickings are a little slim here, but The Stardust Hotel always draws a crowd
