Henry Diltz’s Rock Photography on Show at Blender Gallery

I’ve always been a music nerd. Some of my favourite memories of childhood see me sitting with my dad and his vinyl collection while my mum worked nights. He’d carefully take the records out of their sleeves and tell me about the songs, explaining their lyrics and telling me the history of the bands. So I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to check out Henry Diltz’s current exhibition at Blender Gallery.
For the uninitiated, Henry Diltz is one of the world’s greatest rock photographers. In California Dreaming we see a candid image Joni Mitchell playing guitar in her backyard while Eric …read more

Wonderful Wildlife at the Museum

I’m a real sucker for animals, so I was thrilled to find that the world’s best wildlife photography is heading to our fair city. The Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition features 105 professional and amateur images show animals as we rarely see them.
The exquisite shots include everything from a hair-raising zebra stampede, to some peaceful resting butterflies, and a comical snorkeling elephant.
“Swimming underwater with such a massive land animal was one of those unforgettable experiences,” said American Jeff Yonover who captured the elephant photo.
The annual exhibition opens on Saturday at the Australian Museum.
“It’s one of the highlights on the …read more
