The event is the largest annual Latin American festival in Australia.

There’ll be plenty to see, with more than 70 performances by top bands and dancers, and the opportunity to leant to salsa, tango, and samba. Best of all, it’s free!

Some of the highlights include an appearance by Melbourne Latin nine-piece San Lazaro and Cuban salsa star Osvaldo Chacon.

Palm Grove will become an outdoor dance floor with the Fiesta Nights events every evening. The dance classes will be hosted by some of the country’s best Latin dancers, including salsa world champs Luda Kroiter and Oliver Pineda, national tango champions Fabio Robles and Ana Andre, and our samba queen Cristina Ramon.

You’ll also see Mexican mariachis, Afro-Cuban bands, flamenco dancers, and Brazilian carnivale girls.

If you get peckish, be sure to visit the markets in Tumbalong Park. Here you can taste South-American foods, and buy some Latin arts and crafts.

Fiesta kicks off at 6:30 pm on September 28 with a massive concerts and fireworks display. It’ll wrap up on October 1. Don’t miss it! See the Darling Harbour website for a full program of events.

Post from: The Sydney Traveler
