Head down to Darling Harbour this weekend to check out the Jazz & Blues Festival. There’ll be plenty of fantastic, and free, entertainment by the water’s edge all long weekend.
James Morrison and Deni Hines will pay tribute to jazz legends Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, and Nina Simone, while Australian Idol crooner Carl Riseley will charm fans of all ages. Katie Noonan will also perform with her pop/jazz outfit Elixir and d.i.g. will bring the funk with their grooving acid jazz.
The Chinese Gardens of Friendship will host special Jazz and Yum Cha lunches every day of the long weekend. Enjoy a range of tasty Asian treats and soak up the mellow jazz sounds of the Jim Pennell Trio.
You can sit back and relax if you like, but if you really want to get involved make sure you sign up for one of the jazz workshops. Jazz music legends like Judy Bailey, John Morrison, and Peter Bishop will show you all the tricks of the trade.

Public transport: Take the train to Town Hall station and walk down Druitt Street, take a ferry to Aquarium Wharf, take the monorail to Darling Park or Convention station, or take the light rail to Convention station
