Two Dollars Goes a Long Way Towards Helping the Homeless
We all enjoy a weekend away in a luxurious hotel. While we’re indulging ourselves, it can be all too easy to forget that close to 120,000 Australians are homeless. But aren’t there shelters for that kind of thing, you might ask? Well yes, but two out of three people are denied emergency accommodation because there’s simply no room.
I’m not trying to guilt you out of your Sydney stay. Quite the opposite in fact. I’m just asking you to remember the homeless when you pay your hotel bill. Through August and September, just add an extra $2 (or more if you’re feeling generous!) to your bill at any Vibe Hotel in the city. You’ll find Vibe hotels in Goulburn Street in Sydney, Alfred Street in North Sydney, and Bayswater Road Rushcutters Bay.
100% of your donation will go to StreetSmart, an organisation which helps people find emergency accommodation, meals, and move out of homelessness. It’s a really simple idea, and one that should make it a little easier to sleep during your Sydney stay.
