Wonderful Wildlife at the Museum
I’m a real sucker for animals, so I was thrilled to find that the world’s best wildlife photography is heading to our fair city. The Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition features 105 professional and amateur images show animals as we rarely see them.
The exquisite shots include everything from a hair-raising zebra stampede, to some peaceful resting butterflies, and a comical snorkeling elephant.
“Swimming underwater with such a massive land animal was one of those unforgettable experiences,” said American Jeff Yonover who captured the elephant photo.
The annual exhibition opens on Saturday at the Australian Museum.
“It’s one of the highlights on the museum’s calendar, because the photos are just so amazing,” said museum publicist, Michelle Britton.
“They offer an extraordinary insight into the beauty and diversity of the natural world, taking us to places we haven’t been and showing us animals that we haven’t seen.”
After its Sydney showing, the exhibition will travel to Adelaide, followed by other Australian capitals.
